In their infinite wisdom, the federal government has decided that for 2012/13, the maximum concessional contribution for everybody is $25,000.
Concessional contributions include the mandated 9% super guarantee plus any salary sacrifice arrangements you have.
Please ensure that if you have such arrangements in place that you don’t exceed $25,000 in total for the year. The penalty for doing so is an additional 31.5% tax on the excess contributions.
