It is with both pleasure and sadness that to announce that Chris and I no longer own Lister Mason (as at 8 October 2021).
We have decided to sell the practice to Peter Gill and Ian Linton who will continue to service the Lister Mason clients into the future as Lister Mason. We are happy that our clients are to continue being looked after by Peter, Ian and the team, as Chris and I trust them to do just that, and you the client are able to continue dealing with someone you know – and more importantly, knows you.
Over the past few years my role in the accounting firm has reduced as I spend more and more time working in Customised Financial Planning. In that time, the team of Peter, Kevin, Renee and Trish and more recently, Ian on his return to the firm have primarily looked after your needs. This was also done as part of the planning for the eventuality of me reducing my responsibilities and workload.
Lister Mason started on 1 July 1989 at Sutherland when I went into partnership with Jeff Lister (yes there actually was a Lister!). Two years later I took sole control and have been running the firm ever since with the help of some really good people.
I’m proud to say that a number of you have been clients for all those 32 years so I guess we must have done something right in that time.
So I am sad that an era has come to an end – but I take great comfort that you will continue to be taken care of by an organisation that I trust will do so.
What are Chris and I doing?
Chris will continue to work for Lister Mason as she does now, so the person that knows you and greets you will still be the same. She does however have a second job now of minding our almost 17 month old grandson, Jordan one day/fortnight going forward. I don’t think she knows which job will more stressful!
Last year I merged the financial planning business with another firm within our financial planning group and I will continue to operate out of the Engadine office as well as our office at Brighton-Le-Sands. So please, if you want help with any financial planning needs I am still available.
Thank you for your custom over the years. In our game you certainly get to know your clients on a very personal level and it has been a privilege that you have allowed me to do that.
