After 23 plus years with Lister Mason, I will no longer be employed by the firm after 30 June 2021.
My move to Bermagui is making it logistically harder to do client work. This, along with software changes and increasing concerns around cyber security are also making it more difficult.
I have truly enjoyed my time working with so many interesting clients and all of the challenges that we have encountered together. The last 18 months has been very challenging, in particular with the Covid issues throwing out a curve ball of monumental proportions. It has been difficult for individuals and businesses, as to whether they would survive the crisis or if the introduction of Jobkeeper and other government grants would help them and keep the economy afloat. It made a lot of people take stock of where they were, how they would be affected and what could be achieved.
There are some great stories of survival from all of this.
In my own case, we found that our favourite pastime of travel was off the agenda. During this period, we reviewed our own situation. As many of you know, Caroline and I decided to leave Sydney and relocate to Bermagui last October, where we had lived between 1988 and 1997. Since that time, I have continued my association with the office, working remotely like so many others in this Covid era.
I would now like to take this opportunity to thank all of those clients that I have worked with over the years, many of you are now good friends, and wish you all the best in the future. I have had a great time working with everybody.
I am certain that the office will continue to look after your interests in the same manner that we have done so during the time I have been involved with Lister Mason. They are a very good team.
A final thank you for making the last 23 years enjoyable and rewarding and I appreciate your support during this time.
