If you’ve been impacted by the recent bushfires in 2019-2020, you should be aware that the ATO are relaxing some rules to the affected taxpayers via postcode. They will automatically defer any lodgements or payments that may be due.
You (or us as your agents) DO NOT need to apply for a deferral – it will be automatically applied. Income tax, activity statement, SMSF and FBT lodgements and their associated payments will be deferred until 28 May 2020.
If you’ve been affected by the bush fires but your postcode is not in the current postcode list, don’t worry. You can phone an Emergency Support Infoline on 1800 806 218 for help.
