Probably not, given the top four teams of the NRL have so much fire power.
But as a long standing (and suffering) Sharks supporter, one can only hope for a miracle (maybe I need to go to church more often!). There is however an interesting parallel between this year’s season for the Sharks and many businesses.
There are many influences on business that can distract them from achieving their goals. For the Sharks this is obviously the ASADA investigation into the use of performance enhancing drugs. (Given the seasons involved it would be more likely they should be investigating the use performance ‘unenhancing’ drugs).
At the beginning of the year Cronulla allowed the ASADA investigation distract them from their goal of winning football games. ASADA posed a threat and all the surrounding issues meant that the team wasn’t focused.
In business, the same can happen. External noise can distract both owners and employees so that business goals are lost sight of.
The only way of ensuring this doesn’t happen is for the business owners to remain focused on the business. A good business plan must be in place and continually revisited, amended and re-adapted by all interested parties i.e. both owners and employees.
